Pinole’s sales tax rate is about to rise by a half-cent on the dollar, and Bruce Lien of San Pablo doesn’t like it one bit. “It sucks! It sucks! It sucks!” Lien said as he came out of Best Buy in the Pinole Vista Crossing shopping center toting a double DVD of a TV show, for which he paid $34.99 plus $2.89 tax.
